1950s Saul Steinberg skirt

Wow novelty print skirts are now ridiculously priced and it has become hugely competitive to get a good one at a price that isnt the equilvent to be held at hostage. You may think that statement is a tad of an over statement, but I started vintage shopping when items where as cheap as getting a skirt at Topshop and Im not that old, vintage was meant to be fun, now it seems more of an investment, to get value of this no more shopping for the next year okay. Im not going to lie, realistically it is not worth the money as I have other novelty skirts in almost perfect condition, but it is sure cool and I have yet to see this in any of the vintage shops I have ever visited, so new to me and maybe to you.

The Perfect Pair

It not copying if you think its supercool. I finally scored a silvertone version of the 1955 AO Flame it has no additional flamette but the signs are good its the same size as the one I already have. Heres a picture of me wearing A O Perfect mate, I have Mary Van Notes blog to blame for my new obsession. And time is not on my side, I have plans for a new life in the Autumn and reduced pay, so vintage buying will become a luxury, well unless its furniture for the flat.

On its way

My first 50s skirt from eBay! I was able to do an offer as it had been on the site a while as a Buy it Now option. I have always wanted a skirt but the shops charged to much and never have my size. The prices are less on etsy but still high for my sizeand customs will have a field day. I did have to pay a cutoms fee, I have been buying quite a few low value items from America so it was bound to happen.

Hot Days

I love the idea of wearing vintage 50s Hawaiian or Tiki inspired clothes in the summer, but I not too keen on the price so here are some more purse friendly examples. What about turning a mens shirt into a top? And I even managed to find a purse friendly 50s Hawaiian dress for the small bust. I love the Tiki bamboo 2 piece, unfortunately the skirt waist is too small.

Dazzle this Summer

I have wanted a sequin cardigan ever since I saw my two Aunt get one at the tender age of 16. I purchased a beaded and sequin cardigan in okay condition for £45 in Covent Garden that same year. I was horrible chuffed until I realised I could of bought it of eBay in better condition. It may be sunny out there but there is one hell of a cold breeze, I need to wrap up.

The Spotlight on Forever Lovely Vintage

Since it looks like my buying days are over until I can repay my home moving loan (6months), I thought l would share the sellers I am most interested in owning a piece of. Unfortuntely I missed out on a dress I wanted as I was waiting for that overtime and purchased that Horrockses. It debuted last Friday when I was doing particularely nothing. The images above are of some the clothes availabe, theres even a Swirl.

GoodBye

Goodbye online diary, you were my source of hope, and a record of the struggles I seem to be born to keep enduring. Part inflicted by myself...
