On its Way

I had to get this pot unfortunately I had to contend with a phantom bidder who likes to push prices up but never intends to buy, because they always bid days before. So I ended up paying the same amount as you would for a pot in a good condition, but as they hardly come up, Im okay about that.

On its way

My first 50s skirt from eBay! I was able to do an offer as it had been on the site a while as a Buy it Now option. I have always wanted a skirt but the shops charged to much and never have my size. The prices are less on etsy but still high for my sizeand customs will have a field day. I did have to pay a cutoms fee, I have been buying quite a few low value items from America so it was bound to happen.

loveSpyVintage

Fintage 365 days of vintage is over, inspired by they way she puts her outfits together I have resolved to take more care to complete my vintage looks and I have purchased my first 50s circle skirt.
So when I spotted this amazing look I had to share, its from Lovespyvintage on ebay.

OMG PRINT!
Its is priced at $158.99 but to be honest when are you ever gone to find something like this again. I would indulge if I could but you know the customs charge is sure to be a bitch.

Fintage inspiration

I must admit I get a perverve sense of satisfaction hunting down something I have coveted from another person. So imagine my excitement at finding an item exactly like the one owned by 365 vintage days on eBay, just unfortunately its way out of the budget.

In the Post

You know I said this item was a little big, well disturbingly its really not, so I'm off to Ymca gym to find out how much it is to join. At the same time I'm thinking its a Friday so I need a sweet treat. The jacket needs 2cm trimmed of each side and the dress 1.5cm for a tighter fit.
Wish me good luck I have another interview and its local so they cant use the excuse, I live too far to be considered, they will have to use a legitimate reason like I don't have enough experience (which would be true).

Time to Sew

I have lots of fabric left over from the University days, I left my overlocker at my Aunts so theirs no chance of me being able to use the jersey fabric.
But I bought some african print fabric to orginally do a 50s sarong dress, but I seem to not find the right pattern to complete the task so I was thinking of using Vogue Pattern V2961.
Strike that thought, bodice back is missing! How I would love to make a pattern for this dress, which I didnt buy as £25 for postage is too much.

I have a thing for deadstock

I have a thing for deadstock clothing, yeah its never been worn and the belt are often still included, but mostly I like the labels, its a little brief history of clothing manufacture.

Silver Lining

Good news! I won £10 on the lottery so that covered the wasted travel fare and gives me a couple of quid to spend wiselys.
Also my tray of veg for a £1 that I have been getting for like ages, coupled with economy spending for the last two months, means that I have the lost weight, so I can now fit in Christmas favourite vintage dresses and this dress below only two more inches to go on the bust.

1950s chiffon Party dress £55

My bargain shop buy. 1940S Dress with Bolero £42

I got these two dresses from a vintage shop up north, for years I studied at a University town that had the best kept vintage shop in England, and when I did find out about it, I had left. It makes me mad, just thinking of the kinda clothes I couldve bought while studying.
It makes the 3hr trip I make 4 times a year to visit it, worth it.

GoodBye

Goodbye online diary, you were my source of hope, and a record of the struggles I seem to be born to keep enduring. Part inflicted by myself...
